Charlotte Yates
& Show Pony:
songs for our time!

Hailing from Wellington, singer-songwriter Charlotte Yates wields acoustic guitar while her ally in music, the multi-instrumentalist Show Pony aka the ‘Swiss Army Knife of NZ music’ plays trumpet, violin, percussion and backing vocals… but not all at the same time!

They've been performing together at select shows around the country - most recently at the famous Mussel Inn in Golden Bay and the Christchurch Folk Club - but both women are busy professional musicians.

‘Yates’s fine voice and astute pop songwriting are more than ably backed up by her intuitive guitar work.’

North and South Magazine

Many may remember Charlotte Yates from the iconic 1990‘s band ‘When the Cat’s Been Spayed’, while Show Pony is kept busy with a wide range of diverse personal projects including Ska Pai, The Wooden Box Band and Head like a Hole. They get on like a house on fire!

Together they will be performing a two-set show featuring all songs from Winter’s Eye, Charlotte‘s latest EP.

‘Had she been born a few decades later,
the Kiwi music machine would be all over
her talent and hooky semi-acoustic songs
like the proverbial rash?’
