Hobnail:
Celtic, Folk, Country and Rock

Hobnail are a Wellington institution.

The band have played shows everywhere from Pittsburgh to Paekakariki, New Plymouth to Norfolk Island, Auckland to Amsterdam, Germany to Gore, the Canadian Prairies to the Canterbury Plains!

Hobnail – three-time finalists at the New Zealand Music Awards (Best Folk Album and Best Country Song – twice!) – celebrated 30 years of active service in 2024 and are currently touring New Zealand with their new album Three Part.

The new album – their eighth – features Hobnail’s take on songs by some of their favourite Kiwi and Australian bands and songwriters, including Don McGlashan, Barry Saunders, The Waifs, Nick Cave… and more.

These versions highlight the vocal and instrumental interplay between three exceptional musicians: core members Rob Joass (vocals, guitar, mandola), Jo Moir (vocals, violin) and Hamish Graham (vocals, guitars, percussion).

With Jo Moir's barnstorming fiddle, great songs and spectacular harmonies, Hobnail's live show will make your feet move and your heart sing!

Refreshingly down-to-earth and lovely,
with vocals so tightly knit they could be family.
