Spreading
the good stuff
FRIDAY MARCH 21
WAI.TAI is a groundbreaking Māori-World Fusion Collective under the musical direction of Robyn Kamira, delivering a unique and contemporary sound that originates right here in Aotearoa.
With original music that bridges cultures and traditions, WAI.TAI has captivated audiences across Aotearoa and the US. Their compositions have even found their way into international performances and videos, showcasing their global resonance.
Really loved the storytelling component.
I couldn't wait for the next bit!
The Bunker
Blending the richness of Te Reo Māori with diverse musical influences from around the globe, WAI.TAI creates an experience that is as thought-provoking and soulful as it is energising and rhythmically dynamic. Their music seamlessly shifts from reflective, meditative moments to infectious beats that will have you moving.
Passionate about environmental and social advocacy through an indigenous lens, WAI.TAI’s performances are more than music — they are a call to action and a celebration of unity.
The band – featuring a fluid lineup of four musicians – thrives on connecting with diverse, inclusive audiences, proudly sharing their message: ‘We want to spread the good stuff everywhere!’
WAI.TAI will appear at The Arts Junction on Friday March 21.
WAI.TAI’s weaving together of language and instruments was a joy.
