WEDNESDAY MARCH 20

GOOD HABITS

U.K. Folk FUSION

Good Habits are Bonnie Schwarz on cello and vocals and Pete Shaw on accordion. Their award-winning, genre-fusing sound has received international critical acclaim in the four years they have been performing.

The singing-standing-dancing pair mix vivid storytelling of their existentially optimistic tales with eclectic sounds. From classically trained yet holistic musical backgrounds, the folk-couple drawing mainly from modern folk, jazz, indie songwriting and Klezmer music to create an engaging, uplifting, and energized performance.

After a pandemic spent happily stranded on their 2021 New Zealand tour, Good Habits return to their Antipodean second home for a mighty tour that includes Katikati Folk Club.

“Musicianship at its 21st century best.”

Tom Robinson, BBC Radio

Over the past year, Good Habits have performed at world-famous festivals around Europe including the Cambridge Folk Festival and Glastonbury in the UK, and Elfia in the Netherlands.

Described as “engagingly clear across a rich variety of styles” (Songlines Magazine), Good Habits have performed alongside some of New Zealand’s top acts including Nadia Reid, Ria Hall and Lost Tribe Aotearoa.

“You want to wrap this duo around you like a warm blanket.”

Amanda Palmer, Dresden Dolls

Good Habits’ debut album, Going For Broke, received glowing press in Songlines and the New Zealand Herald, and their hectic tour schedule has included performances at New Zealand’s largest festivals, including CubaDupa, TSB Festival of Lights and Resolution. Don’t miss this chance to experience virtuosic musicianship and vocal harmonies with vivid storytelling, woven into an action-packed narrative of folky goodness!
