Fundraiser

Friday July 24

A concert for Kim:

Fundraiser

Katikati Folk Club is holding a special fundraising concert in aid of Kim Workman.

Kim is the daughter of Craig and Paulette Workman, whom many of you will know. They ran the Balcony Cafe and hosted the folk club there in its early years. Craig was a founding member of the club and was the pianist in the band Waterford, as well as being an outstanding and fearsome player at Homewood Tennis Club.

Help Kim Fight Stage 4 Melanoma

Craig and Paulette’s daughter Kim has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma and urgently needs our help.

Her doctors have recommended that the most effective therapy for her specific cancer type is the Ipilimumab and Nivolumab treatment protocol, which is not currently funded in New Zealand.

The Urgency

Treatment must begin immediately

Total cost is $60,000 for four complete treatment cycles

Every day matters in her fight against this aggressive cancer

About Kim

Those who know Kim describe her as the heart and soul of any community she joins.

Her warmth, generosity, and infectious humour have touched countless lives as the driving force behind popular cafés and restaurants in New Zealand and around the world. She has the gift of making people feel genuinely welcome and connected.  Kim has always been the first to rally behind others in need. Now, it’s our turn to help her.

How You Can Help

Our club is hosting a concert to help raise the funds for Kim’s treatment. It will be a real variety concert with many talented local musicians coming together to support Kim.

There will also be food, drinks and a raffle.

You are more than welcome to contribute above and beyond the ticket price: all proceeds will be going to Kim.

We welcome your support on July 24th: join us for an unforgettable night!

Give a Little

In addition to supporting the concert there is a Give a Little page to which you might like to contribute.

With our collective support, Kim can focus on what matters most – healing and recovery.
