FRIDAY AUGUST 30

ALBI AND THE WOLVES

Three quirky fellas playing Indie-Folk
in New Zealand!

Albi & The Wolves bring  indie-folk with a unique New Zealand twist.  They take inspiration from folk ideals, but aren’t limited by tradition. Chris, Pascal and Micheal follow their noses and create heartfelt music with complex arrangements and compelling melodies. By owning folk as a genre and exploring that to its fullest, the band pushes it to its very limits: songs can be rollicking and upbeat, filled with horns and thumping drums, or delicate and stripped back to the barest of bones.

Since 2014 Albi & The Wolves have played over 400 shows in New Zealand Australia, Rarotonga and Canada. They’ve played WOMAD New Zealand and  bagged the Best Folk Artist award at the Aotearoa Music Awards in 2018.

The band’s third album Light After The Dark pushes the band’s boundaries and tackles the melancholy topics of love, grief and sobriety while maintaining a sense of optimism and hope… a feeling best experienced live in the same room… Chris with his heart on his sleeve, joined by cheery and cheeky bandmates who engage and delight.

Light After The Dark can be found all good streaming platforms, and the band is consistently touring New Zealand and Australia.

Albi & The Wolves: The Arts Junction on August 30th.
